This sparkling wine has been produced by the traditional method of bottle fermentation with an extended period of ‘on-lees’ ageing which has contributed to the development of delicious patisserie-like aromas of brioche, baked apple and almond which perfectly complement the crisp fruit of the Chardonnay grape. Pale gold in colour with a fine, delicate and persistent mousse, the palate is soft yet vibrant and fresh.
Delicious as an aperitif or with a variety of lightly flavoured savoury dishes and cheeses.
“The [Albourne Estate] Blanc de Blancs has great freshness, purity and balance, with high minerality and a long finish. It would make an ideal companion to cheese plates and, or, all day drinking” Antonin Dubuis, Head Sommelier at Clos Maggiore, Covent Garden.
“The Blanc de Blancs is very refreshing, crisp and with citrus coming through” Valentin Checa, Sommelier at Flemings, Mayfair, London.
“I am a big fan of Champagne really, but for a British sparkling, this one is well made.” Helena Guillou, Sommelier at Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street Kitchen, London.
“The Blanc de Blancs was subtle and elegant, and tasting it at Albourne Estate made it even more splendid”. Matthias Carcel, Food & Beverage Manager at The White Horse in Brixton, London.
