English wine with a little bit of Italian magic….

Produced from our own single estate matured base wines, this semi-dry Vermouth is hand-crafted from a carefully selected blend of 40 herbs, spices and citrus peels each adding depth, complexity and interest to this delicious drink.

Semi-dry in style, it’s ideally suited to drinking on its own paired with strong cheeses, nuts or cured meats; or as a partner in many cocktails.  We encourage you to experiment!

On
IT’S OWN

Either well chilled, over ice as an aperitif with nuts & nibbles or at 12 – 15oC in place of a sweet wine with pastry-based dishes, strong cheeses & cured meats.

Elegant
DRY NEGRONI

50ml 40 Vermouth
25ml good quality Gin
25ml Campari

Measure all ingredients into a tumbler filled with ice. Stir and garnish with a lemon or orange zest twist.

The
ENGLISH ROSE

50ml 40 Vermouth
25ml good quality Gin
150ml good quality Tonic
Splash of Rose Water
Sugar Syrup to taste (optional)

Measure all ingredients into a large glass filled with ice.  Stir well.

Vermouth
& TONIC

1 part 40 Vermouth
1 part good quality Tonic

Serve in a large glass with plenty of ice and a slice of lemon.

The
ENGLISH SPRITZ

1 part 40 Vermouth
3 parts English Sparkling Wine

Simply top the 40 in a wine glass with Albourne Estate Blanc de Blancs.

Classic
DRY MARTINI

25ml 40 Vermouth
25ml good quality Gin

Measure 40 and Gin into a shaker or jug, add plenty of ice, stir for 30 seconds & strain into a very chilled Martini glass. Dress with lemon zest or olive & dash of brine.

ELDERFLOWER

75ml 40 Vermouth
75ml Elderflower Presse
25ml good quality Gin
Dash of Angostura Bitters

Measure all ingredients into a glass filled with ice.  Stir well. Decorate with a thin slice of apple.

AMERICANO

25ml 40 Vermouth
25ml Campari
50ml good quality Tonic

Measure all ingredients into a large glass filled with ice. Stir and dress with a lemon slice
